TOT’s Future Author Workshops are designed to inspire a love and appreciation for books from an early age.

We create a space where children can explore their own ideas and let loose their imaginations. They get to be part of an artistic collective, where the first building blocks are laid to create a storybook about their own community.

The workshops involve fun and interactive activities all about storytelling and the craft of telling tales. By the end of the experience, the children will have participated in creating a collective Story Map, which becomes the backbone of a children’s storybook set in their community.

The Story Map gets sent to professional children’s book writers and illustrators, who will flesh it out and bring the tale to life. Then the book gets published, and we share it with the world.

TOT’s Future Author Workshops are designed to inspire confidence, nurture creativity, build self-respect, develop communication skills and foster pride in children’s own communities. The children get to see a book that they took part in creating get published, and they know their voices deserve to be heard.
